What’s happening in Whatcom County for Sept. 16
Back to campus: Fall quarter at Western Washington University begins in just over a week, with an estimated 15,000 students returning to campus. That means this weekend, starting Friday, Sept. 18, thousands of college students will be moving into their residence halls.

Pro-coal tribe: While Lummi Nation locally fights a proposed coal terminal at Cherry Point, Crow Nation in Montana helped produce a series of videos about the benefits of mining coal that would head to Asia through Whatcom County.
