New closures are expected for several road projects this week in Whatcom County. Drivers should use other routes or plan for delays. Some projects may be shifted due to the weather.
Bellingham: Bill McDonald Parkway will be closed between 32nd Street and Ferry Avenue from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, for Cascade Natural Gas to repair a gas line. No vehicles, even emegency vehicles, will be allowed through. A detour will be in place to reroute traffic.

North of Lynden: H Street Road will be closed to through traffic from Guide Meridian to Jackman Road between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, to Thursday, Sept. 3. Emergency vehicles, school buses and those who live or work in the closure zone will be allowed through. The road closure is ditch and shoulder work.

Sudden Valley: The intersection of Rocky Ridge Drive and Valley Crest Way will be limited to one lane from Monday, Aug. 31, to Thursday, Sept. 3. Traffic control will be on site.
Completed: The painting of the Nooksack River Bridge on Interstate 5 near Ferndale is done, so there are no more night lane closures.
