Free parking Tuesday at state parks
Washington state parks offer a free day for visitors Tuesday, Aug. 25, in honor of the 99th birthday of the National Park Service.
No Discover Pass or day-use fee will be required to visit state parks on that day. Fees will not be waived for overnight stays or facility rentals on Aug. 25, but parking will be free for the day.
In Whatcom County that includes Larrabee State Park, Birch Bay State Park and Peace Arch State Park.
The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is planning two more free days for the year: Sept. 26 in honor of National Public Lands Day and Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
