The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in locating an overdue hiker.

Steven Dorsett, 55, was last heard from around 11 a.m. June 24 while leaving the Canyon Creek Trailhead. Police say he was possibly heading to Corral Lake, but the exact details of the route are unclear. He planned to be gone for a maximum of 10 days.

Dorsett is described as being 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds. He is likely carrying a sage green Gregory Paragon backpack, a green Marmot two-person backpacking tent and a green Marmot sleeping bag.

Anyone with information is asked to contact WCSO at 360-778-6911.

Dorsett is the second hiker in recent weeks to go missing in Whatcom County.

Search and rescue efforts for Gursimran Singh (or Rhandhawa), 34, in the Twin Sisters mountain range remain underway. Singh was expected back in British Columbia on June 28. His vehicle was found on Middle Fork Road.

Anyone with information about Singh is asked to call 911.
