Ferndale man killed in motorcycle-versus-vehicle crash in Whatcom County
A Ferndale man died in a motorcycle crash Tuesday night in Whatcom County.
The deceased has been identified as Zachary Bass, 41, according to Payton Richards, an investigator at the Whatcom County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Bass was heading west on Slater Road at a high speed around 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, when he collided with a truck heading eastbound at the intersection of Slater and Elder roads, according to Deb Slater with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office. Bass was pronounced dead at the scene.
Slater said no citations or charges were issued.
