Whatcom County experienced a disruption to 911 services that lasted several hours Monday afternoon and evening, but service was restored just before 6 p.m., according to an emergency alert issued by the county.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Division of Emergency Management said it was notified by WhatComm about an inability to receive calls, but a possible cause had not been determined.

Anyone who is unable to reach a dispatcher via 911 should contact the dispatch center directly at 360-676-6911.
