A family of four in Maple Falls lost their home in a fire Monday night. The family was able to evacuate safely, according to Fire District 14 Chief Jerry DeBruin.

DeBruin said the fire appeared to have been due to an electrical failure or short, and the structure was a complete loss. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the family, DeBruin said.

The fire was reported on the PulsePoint emergency services app at 10:14 p.m. Monday, May 18.
