Ferndale man dies after car catches fire in Mountlake Terrace crash

A 43-year-old Ferndale man died Tuesday in a fatal crash in Mountlake Terrace, according to Washington State Patrol.

WSP said the man was driving north on I-5 at 3:29 a.m. and took the 236th Street Southwest exit to the transit station. As the car was on the ramp, it struck the wall and caught on fire, becoming fully engulfed.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
