Bellingham March events: St. Patrick’s Day parties, markets, film fest and more

Looking for fun events to do in March? Here is your monthly roundup of key Bellingham events, festivals, trivia nights and live music this month. For a complete list of Whatcom County events, visit bellinghamherald.com/events.

Bellingham events

  • The Women’s Adventure Film Tour, a film festival featuring women’s stories, will run from 7 to 10 p.m. March 5. Tickets cost $15 online in advance. The film tour is at the American Alpine Institute at 4041 Home Rd.
  • The Bellingham Dockside Market features fresh fish from local fishermen and a variety of vendors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7 and Saturday, March 21 at Squalicum Harbor, 2599 S. Harbor Loop Drive.
  • The Bellingham Firefighter’s Ball 2026 is open to the public and will run from 6 to 11 p.m. March 14 at the new Stemma Brewing in Bellingham. Tickets cost $60 per person for the 21-and-over event, which includes an Irish meal and karaoke. Stemma West is at 508 Carolina St.
  • The Runnin’ O’ the Green 5K and 8K race, a St. Patrick’s Day-themed run, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 14. The event is open for all ages and will end at Stones Throw Brewery at 1009 Larrabee Ave. for a post-run party. Costumes are encouraged, and registration is available online.
  • The 16th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at noon March 15. Green attire is encouraged, and those wishing to walk in the parade can meet in front of Bellingham High School at 11 a.m. The parade route will end at the intersection of Cornwall Ave. and Chestnut St.
  • St. Paddy’s Day Celebration at Stones Throw Brewery will run from 3 to 8 p.m. March 17, and will include a new beer release in collaboration with Kulshan Brewing, a Celtic Jam session, an Irish dance performance and live music. Stones Throw Brewery is at 1009 Larrabee Ave.
  • Open Roller Skate is returning to The Depot from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20. Participants are invited to bring their own skating gear. The event is free for all ages at Depot Market Square at 1100 Railroad Ave.
  • The 38th annual Fairhaven Neighbors Plant & Tree Sale is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28 in the Hillcrest parking lot at the corner of Old Fairhaven Parkway and 14th Street. Offerings include veggie starts, flowers, herbs, native and specialty plants, bamboo, trees, berries, ornamentals from local and regional growers. The sale benefits nonprofit Fairhaven Neighbors and a portion of profits are shared with other community nonprofits. Admission is free and all are welcome. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own boxes for transporting purchases.

Live music in Bellingham

  • Stone’s Throw Brewery has free live music for all ages from 6 to 8 p.m. throughout the month. For the lineup of artists, check the brewery’s website or Facebook page. Stone’s Throw Brewery is at 1009 Larrabee Ave.
  • ​The Aslan Brewing Co. Depot welcomes local artists throughout the month. For the music lineup, check the schedule online. Aslan Brewing Co. Depot is at 1322 N. State St.
  • Kulshan Brewing Company’s various breweries are hosting live music all month. For the music lineup and locations, check the schedule online.
  • ​The Blue Room, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live performers and performances, including jazz nights, local artists, and improv nights. Tickets are available online in advance. The Blue Room is at 202 E. Holly St.
  • The Shakedown, a live music venue and bar, regularly hosts live music and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. The Shakedown is at 1212 N State St.Wild Buffalo House of Music, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live music from a variety of bands and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. Wild Buffalo House of Music is at 208 W. Holly St.
  • Bar Two Eleven, a bar and music venue, regularly hosts live music and concerts. Tickets are available online in advance. Bar Two Eleven is at 211 E Chestnut St.
  • Admiralty Lounge, a restaurant and lounge, regularly has live music from a variety of musicians from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays. Admiralty Lounge is at 100 N. Commercial St.
