Three traffic crashes occurred on Slater Road in Ferndale within three hours Monday, Jan. 19, resulting in two people being taken to the hospital for injuries. All collisions occurred within a 1-mile stretch of road.

The first collision occurred adjacent to Barlean’s Organic Oils near Lake Terrell Road around 6:15 p.m. The vehicle rolled over, and the driver was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center, according to Whatcom District 7 (Ferndale) Fire Chief Ben Boyko.

Before firefighters arrived for the first call, another collision occurred just to the east on the bridge between Lake Tarrell Road and Elder Road. The second collision was a minor crash that resulted in no injuries, Boyko told The Herald.

The third collision happened in almost the exact same spot as the second, and involved another vehicle rollover. The driver had to be extracted from the vehicle and was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center.

Fire District 7 does not release the names of people involved in traffic incidents so condition updates on those injured in the crashes were not available.
