The 2026 Ski to Sea race is sold out; organizers taking names for waitlist
Registration for the 2026 Ski to Sea race in Whatcom County opened Jan. 1, and organizers announced in an email Thursday that 425 teams had registered, leaving just 75 spots to fill. By Thursday night the race had sold out.
The course begins at Mount Baker Ski Area, and this year’s race will take place May 24. Teams of three to eight members will compete in seven sports, including cross country, downhill skiing/snowboarding, running, road cycling, canoeing, cyclocross and sea kayaking, with a finish line in Fairhaven.
Only one person per team is required to register at skitosea.com. Registration includes fee payment, division selection and the submission of a team name. Division and team name may be revised up until April 15.
Teams may request a refund subject to applicable fees through the end of March, according to Thursday’s email. For each team that cancels during this period, one team will be admitted from the waitlist. After April 1, all registrations are nonrefundable.
