WSP: Man dies after jumping out of moving tour bus on Interstate 5

A man died Sunday on northbound Interstate 5 in Skagit County after opening the door of his tour bus and jumping into the road.

Kilakila Kalai, 34, of Kāneʻohe, Hawaii, was struck by the tour bus and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Skagit County Coroner’s Office.

The cause of death has been determined to be multiple blunt-force injuries, although the manner of death is classified as undetermined, according to the coroner’s office.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. just south of Alger in Skagit County, according to the Washington State Patrol.
