Multiple-vehicle crash leaves one dead, three injured in Whatcom County
One person was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash Sunday night west of Ferndale in Whatcom County.
The collision occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday and involved two motorcycles and a car at the intersection of Mountain View Road and Olson Road, according to Deb Slater with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.
One motorcyclist, Malakhi A. Moreau, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene, Whatcom County Medical Examiner Aldo Fusaro told The Herald on Tuesday. The other motorcyclist sustained injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham. The two occupants of the car were seriously injured and also were taken to the hospital, according to Slater.
Ferndale Police, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, Whatcom County Fire District 7 and the Bellingham Fire Department responded to the scene, Slater said.
