Everson teen dies following early-morning crash north of Bellingham
An early-morning rollover crash on Labor Day resulted in the death of an Everson teen and sent two other people to the hospital.
Noah Martinez, 15, of Everson was ejected from the vehicle and suffered multiple blunt force injuries, according to Whatcom County Medical Examiner Dr. Aldo Fusaro. The crash occurred around 2 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, Fusaro said.
The vehicle was traveling above the speed limit while heading north on Noon Road when it left the roadway in the 6500 block and rolled several times, Deb Slater with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office told The Herald.
Slater said one person was in critical condition when first responders arrived, and he was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
There were two other juvenile males who were also injured in the crash, according to Slater. Authorities have not said which of the teens was driving at the time of the crash or whether any of them were wearing seat belts at the time.
The other two people in the vehicle received cuts, abrasions and possible concussions, Slater said.
