Four of the Washington businesses recognized by Inc. are in the financial services industry, while the rest represent a wide variety of industries. While Inc. simply listed the companies that qualified rather than ranking them, it gave certain companies special mentions for notable accomplishments.
Pacific Energy Concepts and People Come First both earned shoutouts for being in business more than 15 years.
Gamesight was one of the few companies with less than 50 employees to make the list, Inc. said, and People Come First has fewer than 100 employees.
People Come First also earned attention due to its relatively high annual revenue.
How did Inc. rank top workplaces in US?
Inc. invited companies to apply for consideration on the best workplaces list. In order to qualify, companies had to meet the following criteria:
- Be an independent company and not a division or subsidiary of a larger company
- Be based in the U.S.
- Have at least five permanent employees
- Be at least two years old
- Bring in less than $1 billion in annual revenue
Inc. worked with a research firm to analyze benefits packages and survey employees at the companies that applied. Inc. then conducted another round of vetting on the companies that applied.
Finally, Inc. compiled its list of the highest scorers.
