Don’t miss Ferndale’s free ‘Summer of Fun’: Outdoor movies, concerts, food trucks
Ferndale’s “Summer of Fun” starts this weekend, bringing a weekly schedule of free activities, entertainment and events to Pioneer Village park.
“There is something fun to do in Ferndale almost every weekend this summer, so get ready to eat, dance and connect with your community at our Summer of Fun events in Pioneer Park,” a news release from the city of Ferndale states.
Each event is free and open to the public, and together they bring wide variety of entertainment to Whatcom County.
Here is this year’s lineup:
▪ Food truck Friday on Friday, June 20 will include a variety of food truck vendors starting at 5:30 p.m., with free entertainment by the Bellingham Circus Guild.
▪ A Metalworks Skate jam and competition will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, and is open to all ages. The city will release additional information on the event and competitions prior to the event.
▪ Flicks in the Park, an outdoor movie event, will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, June 27 with a showing of “Moana 2.” Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets or camping chairs. The free event includes free popcorn and soda.
▪ Flicks in the Park returns at 9 p.m. Friday, July 11 with the movie “The Wild Robot.” Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets or camping chairs.The free event include free popcorn and soda.
▪ The city will host “Music in the Park,” a free event, with a performance by local country band Country Rose starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 18. Food trucks on site will offer dining options.
▪ Meet in Pioneer Park at 10 a.m.Saturday, Aug. 17 for “Yoga in the Park with Flow Motion,” hosted by Flow Motion, LLC. The free event is open to all ages, and guests are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat and water bottle.
▪ Food Truck Friday returns at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22. Multiple food trucks will be on site at the park.
Pioneer Village is at 2000 Cherry St. in Ferndale.
