Three-vehicle crash near Ferndale results in one death; three others taken to hospital

A car crash Tuesday afternoon in Ferndale resulted in one death and left three others injured.

A vehicle heading south on Church Road collided with two northbound vehicles around 2:11 p.m. in the 5900 block of Church Road, according to a news release from the city of Ferndale.

The three injured people were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham. One patient was transported with advanced life support, Ferndale Fire Chief Ben Boyko told The Bellingham Herald in an email.

No minors were involved in the crash, according to the release. The investigation is ongoing, and Church Road remained closed as of Wednesday morning.
