Lynden man involved in head-on highway collision that resulted in death of Marysville man
A Lynden man was involved in a head-on collision in Snohomish County on Tuesday afternoon that resulted in the death of the other driver, a Marysville man.
Dennis VanBeek, 60, of Lynden, survived the crash with minimal injuries, according to an incident report from the Washington State Patrol.
WSP reports that VanBeek was driving north on State Route 9 east of Marysville near milepost 25 in a 2002 International dump truck. Kimberly Glasgow, 68, of Marysville was driving south on the highway in a 2015 Subaru Impreza. Glasgow reportedly crossed the center line, leading to a head-on collision just after 1 p.m.
The vehicles came to rest in ditches on opposite sides of the highway, according to WSP. Both men were wearing seat belts.Glasgow was pronounced dead at the scene.
VanBeek is a CDL driver for Faber Construction, according to his LinkedIn profile. The WSP report indicates both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
