Whatcom County authorities looking for missing Lummi Nation elder last seen Jan. 21

The Lummi Nation Police Department and the FBI, in conjunction with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, are searching for a missing person who was last seen Jan. 21.

The Sheriff’s Office announced the search in a Jan. 30 social media post.

The missing woman is Besalynn M. James, 62. She is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 160 pounds. She has scars her right arm and an arm tattoo of “BES.” She has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding James’ location should call 911, contact the Lummi Nation Police Department at 360-312-2274 or the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office at 360-778-6663. The case number is 20100487.
