‘Simply amazing,’ the best cinnamon rolls in Whatcom County, according to local poll

We asked readers where to find the best cinnamon roll in Whatcom County, and the votes are in.

The poll had eight local restaurant options in Whatcom County, including New Whatcom Pastries, Iron Rooster Bakery & Cafe, Avellino Coffeehouse and Lynden Dutch Bakery.

The unscientific poll received 120 votes.

The best cinnamon roll in Whatcom County

Mount Bakery Cafe received 42 votes, or 35% of the total, to top the list of the best cinnamon roll in Whatcom County.

The cafe has two Bellingham locations, one in Fairhaven and one in downtown Bellingham.

The bakery and cafe is well-loved for its pastries, breakfast, a variety of eggs Benedict, sandwiches, crepes, espresso drinks, salads and soups.

Cinnamon roll fans can enjoy “Bellingham’s best cinnamon roll” from the menu, or a plate of cinnamon roll French toast, made up of a croissant dough cinnamon roll, cut in half, egg battered and then pan fried, according to the cafe’s menu.

The bakery and cafe is also well-loved online, receiving a 4.4-star rating from over 1,000 Google reviews for both of its locations and a 3.9-star rating from 350 Yelp reviews.

The Fairhaven cafe is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at 1217 Harris Ave., and the downtown Bellingham cafe is also open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at 308 W. Champion St.

In second place was Great Harvest Bread Co. with 23 votes, followed by Lynden Dutch Bakery with 22 votes and Barb’s Pies and Pastries with 14 votes.
