A man was injured when his vehicle drove underneath the trailer of a semi truck in Ferndale.

Fire crews had to cut the roof of the vehicle in order to get the man out safely. The man suffered minor injuries from the collision and was transported to Saint Joseph Medical Center.

the collusion occurred at 3:40 p.m. on 5670 Barrett Road.

“It took us a little bit of time to extricate him because of the challenges with the vehicle underneath the trailer,” Fire District 7 Chief Ben Boyko told The Bellingham Herald. “Once we knew that the patient was stable, we were able to take our time and safely extricate him by taking the roof off the car.”

No other injuries were reported.
