Man dies in Bellingham trailer fire, cause of the blaze is still being investigated

A man died in a trailer fire in the 4000 block of Flynn Street late Monday in Bellingham, authorities reported.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released. The fire scene is located near Lake Whatcom.

When crews arrived at the structure, a double wide trailer, the man was found deceased inside.

Fire crews received a call around 11:55 p.m. Monday night. When they arrived on the scene, the structure had smoke flowing out the windows, but was not fully engulfed in flames, Bellingham Fire Department spokesperson Dustin Michaelis told The Bellingham Herald.

The fire was quickly extinguished and no other injuries were reported, Michaelis said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
