Crews fight large commercial fire Monday evening in downtown Bellingham

Bellingham Fire crews responded to a large commercial fire in downtown Bellingham early Monday evening.

Several units arrived at the scene of the reported fire just before 5 p.m. on Aug. 7 at 1215 Commercial Street, according to the emergency services app Pulse Point.

Video and photos sent from the scene just after 5 p.m. show firefighters working to douse smoke coming from inside a building. Smoke could be seen coming out of the building’s windows and from an apparent garage door entrance.

Smoke damage was also visible on the outside of the building.

No word yet on the cause of the fire or if anyone sustained any injuries.
