Whatcom County man dies in vehicle crash Sunday
A Maple Falls man died Sunday night after a single-vehicle collision in northeastern Whatcom County.
Wendell Anderson, 63, was driving northbound on SR 547 between Sumas and Peaceful Valley at about 7 p.m. on July 30 when he failed to negotiate a curve, according to a release from the Washington State Patrol.
Anderson overcorrected and crossed to the left side, coming to rest in some shrubbery on the left side of the road.
No other injuries occurred as a result of the crash. Anderson was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The collision is under investigation and it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Anderson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
