The search is ongoing for an at-risk, Whatcom County woman who went missing around 9:30 a.m. March 10.

Julie Montague-Ayers, 67, was last seen in the Peaceful Valley Division in Maple Falls.

Montague-Ayers is 5-foot-4 and 125 pounds with silver-colored hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue-patterned wool coat and red, knee-high rubber boots.

She is said to have moderate dementia and can become confused.

Montague-Ayers and her partner apparently became separated while on a walk. When Montague-Ayers did not return home, her partner searched the local area and then called 911 around 1:50 p.m., according to a Facebook post by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.

A search and rescue mission was activated and the area was searched by a U.S. Customs helicopter, the Sumas Police Department’s drone, members of Kendall Fire, Summit to Sound ground searchers and K9s, according to the post.

A search and rescue headquarters was set up in the parking lot of the Realtor’s office at the entrance to Peaceful Valley on Kendall Road on Saturday, according to a Facebook post by the Everson Police Department.

The Washington State Patrol activated a Silver Alert for Montague-Ayers on behalf of the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone who sees her is asked to call 911 immediately.

The family of Montague-Ayers is also offering a $1000 reward for any information that leads to finding her.
