Ferndale workshop focuses on winter crops for home garden

Home gardeners can learn Sunday, July 12, how to extend the growing season by planting winter vegetables.

The free workshop is open to the public and begins at 2 p.m. at Hovander Homestead Park, 5299 Nielsen Ave. in Ferndale.

People will learn what grows well in Whatcom County and when to plant the winter garden.

It is among the summer workshops put on by the Master Gardener Program.
