Bellingham play park develops with this new name

A new children’s park in Bellingham’s Barkley Village finally has a name.

The park that will soon let kids climb on rocks, traverse logs and swing is officially called Scramble Nature Play Park, according to a Barkley Village newsletter.

The park is being built with natural elements and is not designed to resemble a traditional playground. The completed park will also have a water feature running through it.

A connector trail will be built to walking/biking pathways into the Roosevelt neighborhood to the south, and to the Railroad Trail, according to previous reporting by The Bellingham Herald.

The park’s opening date has still not been announced. Construction began in the spring of 2022.

Development continues at Barkley Village’s new Scramble Nature Play Park Thursday, Nov. 3, in Bellingham. The park is made entirely of natural elements for children to scramble and climb on.
