Whatcom 300-pound pig on the loose ‘not aggressive, just wandering and looking for trouble’
This little piggy went to market. This little piggy stayed home. This little piggy had roast beef. This little piggy had none. And this big piggy is on the loose and looking like he wants to attack!
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office units were advised by What-Comm 911 dispatchers at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, that “a 300-pound pig is on the loose, looking like he was going to attack.”
“Our animal control team has been dealing with a large pig all morning,” Whatcom Humane Society Director Laura Clark told The Bellingham Herald in an email. “He is not aggressive, just wandering and looking for trouble (smiley face emoji).
“We are knocking on doors in the vicinity of where he is currently hanging out and home to reunite him with an owner soon.”
At the time of the unconfirmed emergency radio broadcast, the large, ill-tempered porker on unapproved furlough was located in the backyard of a residence in the 2700 block of Murphy Place, northeast of Bellingham between East Smith and Goshen roads.
No other information was reported by dispatchers, and Clark said she would provide an update when the pig was safely home.
