Lane closures will be greeting drivers along Interstate 5 in Whatcom County after the holiday weekend.
Starting Monday, July 6, Washington State Department of Transportation will be performing daytime maintenance to various sections of the freeway.
On Monday, the left northbound lane near Bow Hill Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repair.
On Tuesday, the right northbound lane at the North Samish Lake overpass will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon for guardrail repair.

On Wednesday, the right southbound lane near the graffiti rock north of the North Lake Samish on-ramp will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for concrete panel repair.
On Thursday, the northbound lanes will alternate being closed near the graffiti rock north of the North Lake Samish on-ramp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repair. The right lane will close in the morning, the left will close in the afternoon.
Delays should be expected, and drivers should make some extra time if they need to pass through any of these areas during the repairs.
