We are looking for Whatcom County’s best thrift store, cast your vote for your favorite
Whatcom County and Bellingham have many great thrift stores, but we want to know your favorite.
Whether you love large chains such as Value Village or Goodwill, or local thrift stores near your neighborhood, they all offer great deals and ways to save on everyday items.
As Earth Day approaches, stores such as Value Village are seeking to educate on how thrift shopping is more environmentally-friendly than buying new clothes.
“The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world. 26 billion pounds of clothing and textiles pile up in landfills each year—95% of which could have been re-worn or repurposed,” Value Village’s website states.
Thrifting clothes, dishes, furniture, toys and even technology not only helps the environment but also helps cut costs during rising inflation.
