Whatcom man dies after motorcycle wreck Saturday
A Maple Falls man has died after the motorcycle he was riding struck a pole Saturday afternoon, April 2, in Whatcom County.
Robert L. Michael, 74, was riding a 1987 Harley-Davidson XLH1100 when he had a medical issue, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol Wednesday, April 6. Michael was northbound on State Route 547 at Eagle Roost Drive southeast of Sumas when the motorcycle left the road and struck the pole.
No other vehicles were involved in the wreck. The driver was wearing the required helmet.
