Road work on major road between Bellingham and Lynden Thursday postponed

UPDATE: The county said Tuesday, Aug. 11, that this work would be postponed to avoid other road work in the area.

Commuters can expect long delays on Hannegan Road between Bellingham and Lynden on Thursday, Aug. 13, according to the Whatcom County Public Works Department.

Workers will be striping the pavement from the Bellingham city limits to the Lynden city limits 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and long delays are expected, according to the release. Alternate routes should be used where possible.

Sheriff’s Office deputies will assist with traffic control while work is being conducted.
