Bellingham fire crews respond to ruptured natural gas line near Samish Way

Bellingham Fire Department crews responded to a ruptured gas line and leak Wednesday morning near the intersection of Bill McDonald Parkway and Samish Way, according to a department tweet.

“Expect odors in the area,” the tweet said.

Cascade Natural Gas also responded to the scene, and the Bellingham Police Department assisted, according to the tweet.

Crews were called to the scene for a report of a Hazardous Condition at 8:25 a.m., according to the PulsePoint app.

At 10:31 a.m., a follow up tweet by Bellingham Fire said that the line had “been capped and crews have cleared.”
