Two separate vehicle crashes snarl traffic on I-5 near Sunset Drive
Two separate vehicle crashes snarled traffic on Interstate 5 early Friday afternoon, June 12, near the Sunset Drive and the Meridian exits.
At 1:25 p.m. a collision was impacting both northbound lanes just south of the Sunset Drive exit. Three minutes later a collision on southbound I-5 was impacting the left lane near the Meridian Street exit.
The collision near Sunset Drive was cleared by 1:50 p.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Twitter account. By 2 p.m. traffic was flowing smoothly in the area while the southbound lanes were experiencing stop-and-go conditions, according to WSDOT cameras. By 2:30 p.m. traffic was back to normal on both I-5 north and southbound lanes in the area.
