Truck fire slows northbound I-5 traffic near Bow Hill exit Tuesday morning
Northbound Interstate 5 was reduced to one lane Tuesday morning, June 2, after a truck with a crane caught fire north of Bow Hill Row in Skagit County and firefighters were called to the scene to put it out.
The Washington State Department of Transportation tweeted about the incident at 7:16 a.m. Tuesday, saying that the incident was blocking the right lane.
Washington State Patrol trooper Heather Axtman followed with a tweet at 7:23 a.m., saying, “Thankfully no one has been injured and what caused the fire is still unknown.” She said the incident was near milepost 237, north of the Skagit Casino between Bellingham and Burlington.
Axtman also tweeted that it was no known if any damage occurred to the road.
WSDOT tweeted at 9:31 a.m. that the incident had been cleared.
