Blocking crash involving semi on Guide Meridian near Lynden cleared

The Washington State Department of Transportation reported Tuesday afternoon that traffic on Guide Meridian near Main Street in Lynden was blocked by a collision involving a semi. It has since been cleared.

First reports of the incident on state highway 539 in Whatcom County were posted by @WSDOT North Traffic at 1:33 p.m.

WSDOT Traffic cameras in the area showed a semi blocking both lanes, with the trailer apparently off the road and in a roadside ditch.

A follow-up tweet at 2:13 p.m. said all other traffic had been removed from the Guide, but the truck remained, blocking the road. WSDOT suggested using alternate routes.

At 2:44 p.m. WSDOT tweeted that the road was cleared.
