Community alert update: Bellingham police tweet missing man with Alzheimer’s located

The Bellingham Police Department tweeted Tuesday that a 74-year-old missing man diagnosed with Alzheimer’s who was reported missing earlier Tuesday has been located and is safe.

The department asked for the community’s help in locating Steven Irving in a Twitter post by the department earlier Tuesday morning, Feb. 4.

“Mr. Irving has been found safe and sound and has been reunited with his family,” the department tweeted at 11:43 a.m. “Thank you all for keeping your eyes open.”

The initial community alert, said Irving was last known to be in the area of 1300 block of Bay Street in downtown and was on foot and included photos of him.

Summit to Sound Search and Rescue said in a Facebook post that it was assisting in the search.
