With 4 to 5 inches of new snow from a winter storm overnight, Whatcom County schools are closed Wednesday, Jan. 15.
All Bellingham Public Schools are closed for Wednesday due to the weather, according to an e-mail from the district Tuesday evening, Jan. 14.
The Ferndale School District said it will be closed on Wednesday due to snow, road conditions and extreme cold throughout the district.
Lynden, Meridian and Mount Baker school districts and Lummi Nation schools have canceled classes, according to flashalert.net.
The Blaine School District and Nooksack Valley district websites say they have canceled classes for Wednesday as well.
Assumption Catholic school is also closed for the day.
Bellingham Technical College and Whatcom Community Colleges also announced they would be closed Wednesday due to the weather. Western Washington University posted early Wednesday that it would close for the day as well.
