Collections sites set up June 12 for moving WWU students

Western Washington University will partner with the city to help students sort unwanted stuff as they move out at the end of the school year.

The Move-Out Madness event will offer three collection sites for students who want to donate household items, furniture, appliances and nonperishable food. There also will be bins for recyclable items and landfill waste.

Bellingham Public Works staff will monitor the sites.

The sites will be available from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, June 12:

York Neighborhood: Franklin Park, 400 block of Whatcom Street.

Sehome Neighborhood: Laurel Park, Laurel and Indian streets.

Happy Valley Neighborhood: 26th Street and Douglas Avenue.
