Bellingham Police advise drivers to use caution at intersection near Trader Joe’s

Police and firefighters are directing traffic around an apparently serious injury crash in the Sunnyland neighborhood near the Trader Joe’s parking lot Monday afternoon, Bellingham Police said.

In a tweet made at approximately 1:05 p.m., police warned drivers about a crash at James and Alabama streets.

Photos posted with the tweet showed firefighters helping an apparent victim on the ground between a car and a three-wheeled motorcycle.

“Please use caution in the area. Traffic is slow, watch for officer directing traffic,” Bellingham Police said in the tweet.

According to the emergency services app Pulse Point, an ambulance took at least one person from the scene to the hospital.

No other information was immediately available about the crash.
