A Maple Falls woman was seriously injured when her car hit a tree early Sunday along Mount Baker Highway, about 2 miles east of Maple Falls.
Chelsea M. Dollar, 24, was in critical condition Monday morning at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, officials said.
According to a Washington State Patrol, Dollar was westbound in a 2014 Subaru Forester when she lost control on a curve at milepost 31 at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
Dollar’s vehicle hit a tree, spun around, and landed back on the road.

She was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report, which also noted that drugs or alcohol were involved.
The cause of the crash was undetermined pending an investigation, according to the state patrol.
She’s being cited for driving under the influence, according to the report.
