A Mount Vernon woman was killed in a two-car crash Monday night in rural Skagit County west of Burlington.
A Washington State Patrol report indicates Karen Wolf, 60, apparently thought traffic was clear when she pulled in front of a Sedro-Woolley driver who had the right-of-way at the corner of Josh Wilson and Farm-to-Market roads near the waterfront enclave of Bay View.
Wolf, driving a 1997 Toyota 4 Runner, had stopped at a stop sign about 6 p.m. Monday on Josh Wilson Road, but then crossed Farm-To-Market Road in front a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Levi Nicholl, 28.
“(Wolf) was stopped at a stop sign westbound on Josh Wilson Road,” the state patrol report said. “There were vehicles in the dedicated right turn lane from Farm-To-Market Road obstructing the view of (Wolf). (Wolf) accelerated from the stop sign and was struck by vehicle two who was traveling northbound on Farm-To-Market Road.”

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and landed in a ditch in the northwest corner of the intersection, according to the report.
Nicholl was hurt in the wreck, but the report provided no information about his injuries.
