While closed due to the coronavirus pandemic the Whatcom Museum is connecting digitally with the community through digital projects, programs and tours.

The Story Dome project, a recording booth that will be featured in the lobby of the Lightcatcher building, will include short video recorded by people talking about a favorite place they miss visiting or their feelings about quarantine.

Virtual programs will be held via Zoom and require prior registration through Eventbrite. Planned programs include Virtual Audubon Society, Virtual Low Sensory Sunday and Virtual Museum in Mind. Information about the events is online at whatcommuseum.org

Gallery tours and collection highlights are also regularly uploaded to the Whatcom Museum YouTube channel. Downloadable science experiments and craft projects have also been developed by the museum’s Family Interactive Gallery staff.

The museum store is offering curbside pickup and shipping, but the store and campus remain closed through at least the end of the month. More information on the projects and programs is available on the museum’s website.
