Whatcom County restaurants offering specials for Mother’s Day at home
With Washington’s stay-at-home order in place until at least May 31, Whatcom County businesses are offering Mother’s Day specials that can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home on Sunday, May 10.
For those of you looking to support a local business or just skip the dirty dishes that come with a homemade meal, these restaurants offer these Mother’s Day specials for you and yours to enjoy:
Anthony’s
With two locations in Bellingham, the Hearthfire Grill and Anthony’s at Squalicum Harbor, Anthony’s is offering a $65 package for mom.
The Mother’s Day package includes spinach salad, beef filet and lobster tail and chocolate mousse. Other options are available off the menu including Anthony’s favorite entrees.
The Hearthfire Grill is open 3-7 p.m. while Anthony’s at Squalicum Harbor is open for business noon-6 p.m.
Antler Baking Co.
If the mom in your life has a sweet tooth, Antler Baking Company has a deal for you. For $35, you can get a Mother’s Day box with four surprise cupcakes and a bouquet of local blooms from Noctua Florals all gift wrapped with a pink silk ribbon and a handwritten note.
Bouquets are also available for purchase with any cake order over $15. Pre-orders are accepted until Friday, May 8, at 5 p.m. and can be placed online.
Your order can either be picked up curbside at 10 Prospect St. at the Flatiron building on Saturday, May 9, from noon-1 p.m. or brought to your home the next day with a special Sunday delivery. Antler can be reached at 360-584-6839.
Birch Door Cafe
For those of you looking to surprise the mom in your life with breakfast in bed, Birch Door Cafe is ready to help.
The package costs $45 and includes made-from-scratch buttermilk batter, homemade maple syrup and whipped butter, an order of biscuits and gravy, two eggs and four slices of thick-cut bacon. As for the beverage, it includes a large fresh-squeezed orange juice and a bottle of sparkling wine.
Pre-orders are accepted over the phone at 360-306-8598 to pick up on either Saturday or Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Birch Door offers curbside pickup and delivery service.
Camber Coffee
Back by popular demand, it’s Camber Coffee!
Returning under COVID-19 health and safety precautions, Camber is open for curbside pickup on Fridays and Saturdays 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Orders are being accepted online.
Although they will not be open on Mother’s Day Sunday, Camber is offering deals for mom to enjoy this weekend. In addition to the full espresso menu, brunch kits, breakfast sandwich bundles, mimosa kits and pastries are available for pre-order.
Freshly roasted coffee bags are also being sold in quantities of 12 ounces, two pounds and five pounds. Finally, Wildrye Farm will have local bouquets for sale. Camber can be reached at 360-656-5343.
Community Food Co-Op
With locations in downtown Bellingham and Cordata, the Co-Op has both brunch and dinner options available from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Orders are accepted until Thursday, May 7. at 8 p.m. and can be made online or at either store.
For brunch, Frittata and Hashbrown Casserole are being offered. Dinner has dishes with either ham or herb-roasted chicken. The dessert menu includes carrot cake, cheesecake and a cake for mom.
The restaurant requires 48 hours notice for any cancellations seeking a refund. The Co-Op is also offering floral bouquets and handmade gift items for mom. The downtown location can be reached at 360-734-8158.
Cosmos Bistro
Cosmos in downtown Bellingham has a wide range of options for mom. According to owner Cinnamon Berg, orders must be placed over the phone at 360-255-0244 by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 8, to be picked up Sunday, May 10, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The restaurant caters to customers seeking a gluten-free option, with spring frittata and smoked salmon cakes eggs Benedict offered for $45 and $32 respectively. The menu includes pork adobo eggs Benedict for $30 and lavender London fog bread putting french toast for $40.
Tulips, bread and drinks, including mimosas, will also be available for pickup.
Great Blue Heron Grill
Located at Semiahmoo Golf & County Club, the Great Blue Heron Grill is offering a four-course meal deal for mom.
Dishes offered in the four-course meal include quinoa salad, organic roasted chicken breast or wild mushroom ravioli and a mini cheesecake sampler.
The meal costs $40 per person and is available for curbside pickup beginning Sunday at 3 p.m. Orders are accepted until Friday at 6 p.m. and can be placed at 360-371-7005, extension 4.
Greene’s Corner
If you are a fan of quiche and mimosas, Greene’s Corner has you covered.
For $36, you can get a brunch meal for two that includes a nine-inch quiche and a freshly squeezed mimosa kit. The quiche comes in two types, traditional quiche Lorraine and a veggie quiche with asparagus, mushrooms and Gruyere cheese.
To pre-order for pickup on Saturday or Sunday, call 360-306-8137. Greene’s is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Whatcom Grown Flowers will also be on-site at Greene’s from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening for bouquets for mom.
Hilltop Restaurant & Catering
Hilltop Restaurant & Catering is offering a variety of take-out specials for mom 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Orders can be placed at 360-398-2462. For brunch, options include eggs Benedict, chicken fried steak and eggs, and ground prime rib steak and eggs.
Dinner is served noon-6 p.m. and options include prime rib (7 ounces or 12 ounces), ham steak, sirloin steak and ground prime rib burgers. Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted to know fresh-baked cookies are served with every order.
Hotel Bellwether Lighthouse Bar & Grill
The Lighthouse Bar & Grill, located at Hotel Bellwether, is offering two brunch options for curbside pickup for a family of four with two adults and two children, according to General Manager Jim Haupt.
The first option is $100 for the package. This deal includes a fresh fruit plater, garden salad with assorted dressings, cinnamon rolls, assorted petit fours, potatoes O’Brien, honey-herb glazed ham, white cheddar and smoked bacon quiche and garlic- and herb-roasted cauliflower au gratin.
The second option is $120 for everything included in the first offer, with a substitute of cedar plank baked salmon with sauce lemon beurre blanc and white cheddar and mushroom quiche instead of ham and bacon quiche.
Reservations are required and can be made over the phone at 360-392-3100. The restaurant is open for breakfast from 7-11 a.m. and brunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Skylark’s Hidden Cafe
Located in Fairhaven, Skylark’s can be reached at 360-715-3642 from noon to 8:30 p.m. for to-go service and delivery through Viking Food. This restaurant is offering brunch, a salmon dinner and Mother’s Day baskets for sale.
Customers are encouraged to call the store to place an order ahead of time for pickup. Food being offered for brunch includes crab cakes, french toast and omelets, to name a few.
Taylor Shellfish Farms
For fresh seafood, Taylor Shellfish Farms is offering deals for mom.
The seafood offered includes five-pound mussel bags, live Dungeness crabs and SunSeeker oysters. The SunSeeker oysters are grown up north in Canada by the Fanny Bay Oysters company.
