Drop-off site, hours changing for health-care supplies, hand-sewn masks

Whatcom Unified Command is changing the hours and location that it is accepting donations of masks and other personal protective equipment for firefighters, health-care workers and others, PeaceHealth posted at its website.

PeaceHealth said in an email that it has confirmed with Whatcom Unified Command that donations and masks are still being accepted.

Donations of supplies, such as masks and gloves, and homemade gowns or hand-sewn masks will be accepted from 4-6 p.m. daily through Sunday, March 29, at 4233 Guide Meridian, Suite 101, just west of the intersection of Guide Meridian and Kellogg Road.

Place items for donation in the trunk or rear hatch area of your car. Don’t get out — someone will remove the items.

For those who want to sew masks, use this video and instructions. Masks from a different template will be accepted too. Shrink the fabric before making the mask.
