Convenience store opens on Bellingham’s N. State Street

A new convenience store has opened at 902 N. State St., Suite 103, near New York Pizza Bar & Grill.

Owner Nisha Chopra opened North State St. Market on Monday, April 20. The store currently offers a variety of traditional convenience store items, including milk, soda, candy and cigarettes and lottery tickets. The store has also applied for a state liquor license to sell beer and wine and is awaiting approval.

Chopra said she opened the store because it is near the university and a residential neighborhood that doesn’t have many convenience store options nearby. It is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.
