Everson-based Tiger Construction under new ownership

A long-time Whatcom County construction company is changing ownership by keeping it in the family.

Brothers Steve and Ken Isenhart have sold their interest in Tiger Construction of Everson to three family members. The new owners are Scott and Nick Isenhart (sons of Ken and Marsha Isenhart) and Derek Isenhart (son of Steve and Sharon Isenhart).

The company has around 49 employees with a gross annual revenue of more than $25 million. The company has built a variety of Whatcom County buildings over the years, including the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Bellingham, Cordata Elementary School and the Peoples Bank administrative building in Barkley Village. Current projects include the Orcas Island Middle School remodel, the Whatcom Community College student recreation center and the Lowell Elementary school remodel.

Ken and Marsha Isenhart started Tiger Construction in February 1974, with Steve Isenhart joining in 1985. Ken and Steve plan to remain with the company at least through the end of the year.

Scott Isenhart will be president of the company, having worked at Tiger since 2004. Nick Isenhart has worked in the field for Tiger since 2006. Derek Isenhart will be vice president, estimator and project manager.

The company also recently hired Brady Jonas, Derek LoPresti and Aaron Wagenaar as estimators/project managers.
