Manufacturer FCA US, which includes car brands such as Chrysler and Jeep, is recalling over 11,000 Jeep Grand Wagoneer vehicles due to a brake issue that could lead to crashes.

Software installed during manufacturing may cause the vehicles to experience loss of electronic stability control and brake assist capability, according to a recall notice posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.

"A loss of electronic stability control and/or electronic brake assist increases the risk of a crash," the recall notice goes on to say.

USA TODAY has contacted Stellantis, the parent company of FCA US, to find out if there have been any injuries related to the recall.

Here's what we know.

The recall includes mostly 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer vehicles.

  • 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer – 8,628 vehicles

USA TODAY has contacted the company to ask about any potential costs for the software update.
