Boat supply chain store on Meridian Street in Bellingham will close for good
Bellingham is losing a large chain store soon, as West Marine, a chain marine supply store, has announced nationwide closures.
“We recently made the difficult decision to close select store locations. While this change wasn’t easy, our commitment to you hasn’t changed one bit — West Marine is open, stocked and ready to help with everything you need to get back on the water,” the company’s website states.
The company has posted a list of 59 stores across the country set to close, including five in Washington.
West Marine at 3560 Meridian St. in Bellingham is set to close, although no official closing date has been set.
Each closing store will also host a closing sale event until final closing dates. Stores in Port Townsend, Everett, Bremerton and Spokane are also set to close in Washington.
The Bellingham Herald reached out to West Marine but has yet to receive a response.
West Marine in Bellingham is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
