Colorado-based company purchases Lynden family appliance business
DeWaard & Bode, an appliance and mattress store first started in Lynden, has been sold to Colorado-based Kodiak Interiors Group.
DeWaard & Bode was first started as the Kredit DeWaard store In 1941, selling appliances and tires in Lynden. In 1946, the store was renamed DeWaard & Bode as ownership shifted to Rube Bode and his brother-in-law, Jake DeWaard. In 2002, ownership changed again but it remained a family-owned business and expanded south in Whatcom and Skagit counties.
In December 2025, the acquisition of DeWaard & Bode was announced in a press release by EIN Presswire.

DeWaard & Bode has continued to operate as usual since the acquisition at its three locations.
The Bellingham Appliance & Mattress Showroom is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 3944 Meridian St. in Bellingham.
The Bellingham Appliance Outlet Center is open from open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 4175 Hannegan Rd. in Bellingham.
The Burlington Appliance Showroom & Outlet Center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 1611 S Burlington Blvd in Burlington.
